Here is a list of logged bike thefts on the MIT campus. Please note that most bike thefts can be prevented by a secure locking design and with a good U-lock (also called D-lock). Kryptonite has a great article with a 2-minute video teaching you how to securely fasten your lock to your bike to prevent the most valuable parts of your bike from being stolen. In the video, they demonstrate using a U-lock combined with a cable lock for the front & rear wheels.
