BACKGROUND: The Phyo Nyi Nyi Kyaw (PN2K) Memorial Foundation was founded on August 08, 2012 and incorporated in Boston, Massachusetts, USA to honor the memory of Phyo N. Kyaw, an MIT Alum and college classmate who first came to MIT as an international student from Burma. PN2K is set up to align with some of the areas that Phyo most cared about, like empowering children through education and mentorship. Phyo was an avid cyclist and was active in cycling groups around Boston. He stressed safety in bicycling, so it came as a shock to all when we heard the news of Phyo’s fatal bike accident.
MISSION: The PN2K Memorial Foundation exists to work with organisations (majority nonprofits) that align with PN2K’s mission statement. We aim to add value to the activities of these organisations by leveraging our MIT resources, international connections, access to funding opportunities, and creativity to enhance the value that our partner organisations can bring to the community and students they help. We become very actively involved with our partners and are always looking for the chance to enhance the value of their programs. In the end, everyone wins – And we all have tons of fun making a difference!
If you would like to be considered for a potential partnership, you can read more here, but FIRST, please make sure that your organization aligns with our mission statement, which you can find in our Articles of Incorporation (please see the links below).
